Partnering with OU Physicians for Better Health

The OU College of Medicine, Tulsa Department of Psychiatry is offering educational workshops on various physical and mental health topics.

All workshops are facilitated by a fulltime Psychiatry faculty member and will be held on the Schusterman Campus, third floor of the Schusterman Clinics building.

Each workshop (scheduled for five weekly one-hour sessions) is $100.00 per person; prepayment and preregistration are required.  Sign up early -- class size is limited to 30 attendees to enhance interactive learning.

Faculty Workshop Facilitator
Kim A. Coon, Ed. D., LPC
Dr. Coon is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and the Director of Psychotherapy Education in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Tulsa. She received her bachelor and masters degrees from the University of Oklahoma, and her doctorate from Oklahoma State University. She is certified as a cognitive therapist by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, and serves as a Diplomate for the International Academy of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling, and Psychotherapy.  Dr. Coon is a Fellow in Rational Emotive Behavioral therapy granted from the Albert Ellis Institute, and has extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy from Harvard Medical School Bipolar Research Program and The Beck Institute.  She serves on the Board of Aleteia International School of Cognitive Therapy in Enna, Sicily, Italy, and also functions as a visiting professor for the School.  She has presented and co-presented over 30 international, national, and regional presentations and has written over 20 manuscripts on psychotherapy treatment and training issues.  Dr. Coon has received several awards for teaching excellence.
