OU-Tulsa President Gerry Clancy, M.D. named Tulsan of the Year by Tulsa People Magazine
Dean’s Message
Welcome to the OU School of Community Medicine, the first medical school of its kind in the nation. We’re especially proud of the opportunity to recruit and train physicians in this exciting new curriculum designed to serve the healthcare needs of entire communities – especially vulnerable and underserved populations. (See community impact video.)
A $50 million dollar donation from the George Kaiser Family Foundation established the School of Community Medicine with the goal of improving public health in Oklahoma, where we face critical challenges in access to quality healthcare. We’re seeking students from within Oklahoma and around the nation who have a specific interest in public health and community service. They’ll learn the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of acute and chronic diseases in whole communities, as well as the full range of primary care and sub-specialties offered in traditional medical programs.
