Kids Connecting with Kids: Teaching Children Social Skills

PART I: Intrapersonal Skills: Research shows that children who do not know how to regulate their emotions or practice impulse control are often rejected by their peers. Part I of Kids Connecting with Kids will describe how parents and teachers can assist kids in developing the internal skills (or intrapersonal) that they need in order to increase their social status. These skills include self-awareness, mood and anger management, and acceptance of others.

PART II: Interpersonal Skills: Even after learning how to manage themselves, children also need to learn how to interact with peers. Part II of Kids Connecting with Kids will discuss important interpersonal skills such as how to join in, how to be a good conversationalist, how to make others feel special, and more.
