Chris Puls, MD
Assistant Professor
Dr. Puls completed his medical school training at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 1996. He completed his General Psychiatry residency training at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis Missouri in 2000. He then completed his fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Denver at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2002. Dr. Puls completed board certification in General Psychiatry in 2005. His areas of interest include pediatric disaster response and on improving access to care for children, as well as developing an integrated model of care between pediatrics and Child Psychiatry. |

Julia “Jill” K. Warnock, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor and Director of Clinical Research
Adjunct Professor of Internal Medicine
Dr. Warnock is board certified in psychiatry and neurology with an added certification in geriatric psychiatry. She is a regional and national speaker on a variety of psychiatric disorders with emphasis on the impact on women’s health. Her research interests include mood disorders, sexual dysfunction in women , psychooncology, stress management in Health Care providers, the interface between psychiatry and reproductive endocrinology and psychopharmacolgy. She is the director of the OU annual Women’s Conference titled: Women’s Health for Life.

Kim A. Coon, Ed. D., LPC
Associate Professor
Director of Psychotherapy Education
Dr. Coon is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and serves as the Director of Psychotherapy Education in the Department of Psychiatry. She received her bachelor and masters degrees from the University of Oklahoma, and her doctorate from Oklahoma State University. She is certified as a cognitive therapist by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, and is a Diplomate in Professional Counseling through the International Academy of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling, and Psychotherapy. She is a fellow in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy granted from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York, and has extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy from the Harvard Medical School Bipolar Research Program and The Beck Institute. She has presented internationally and nationally regarding her research interests in adult education and psychotherapy treatment and training issues.

William R. Yates, MD
Professor
Associate Professor for Research, College of Medicine, Tulsa
Dr. Yates received his medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed residencies in Family Practice at the University of Nebraska and in Psychiatry at the University of Iowa. He also completed a master's degree in Preventive Medicine with a focus on Psychiatric Epidemiology at the University of Iowa. He is a tenured Professor of Psychiatry and Family Practice at the University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine, Tulsa, where he serves as Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Assistant Dean for Research Development. Dr. Yate's research interests are Psychiatry and Primary Care Populations, Alcohol, Drug, Nicotine and anabolic steroid use, Health Services research.

Harvey Blumenthal, MD
Clinical Professor
Dr. Harvey Blumenthal is a Clinical Professor of Neurology in the OU College of Medicine-Tulsa. Dr. Blumenthal organizes and provides instruction in clinical neurology to the psychiatry residents.

Jimmie D. McAdams, DO
Director of Geriatric Psychiatry
Dr. McAdams is a Clinical Assistant Professor for psychiatry at both the University of Oklahoma health science Center Tulsa branch and Oklahoma State University College of osteopathic medicine. Dr. McAdams is also a medical Director of the geriatric psychiatric program at the Laureate psychiatric clinic and hospital. Dr. McAdams is active in teaching residents of psychiatry and family practice as well as medical students. |
