For software over $5,000, after applicable vendor competition requirements have been met, Purchasing will review legal’s checklist, make a preliminary effort to confirm changes with the vendor and forward outstanding issues to Legal. If the vendor refuses recommended changes, Purchasing will escalate any issues and log contract information based on the outcome. Purchasing will also forward these requests to Medical Informatics and/or IT as needed for technology review.

For software under $5,000 but without “shrink-wrapped” or “clickable” agreements, Purchasing will review agreements based on Legal’s checklist to identify required changes and document refusals or changes. Execution of the purchase will be deemed a “business decision” by the buyer. Purchasing will escalate issues and log contract information based on the outcome. Purchasing will also forward these requests to Medical Informatics and/or IT as needed for technology review.

“Shrink-wrapped” and “clickable” software agreements under $5000 do not require review by Purchasing but do require review by Medical Informatics and/or IT. (What do you mean by "shrink-wrapped" and "clickable" software agreements?)
